Height, access and timing

Quoted for your building, not from a table.

Home windows can be priced per pane because the rules are fixed: ground floor or inward-opening, a short ladder, a 2-metre pole. Business premises don’t fit those rules. A shopfront has a fascia sign and a canopy; an office has three storeys of fixed glazing over a car park; a restaurant needs it done before opening. That’s why commercial window cleaning on Cleanifiq is a quote service.

You describe the building and the timing, providers price that, and the way each part of the glass will be reached goes into the quote. Nothing is booked until you accept.

For upper floors, a common method is a water-fed pole: purified water pumped up a long pole and brushed onto the glass from the ground, which dries without leaving marks. Beyond pole reach, glass needs access equipment such as a cherry picker or a cradle, which is a different price and often a different provider.

  • Access in writing

Ladder, water-fed pole or access equipment: how each side is reached is stated before you accept.

  • Timed around trading

Early mornings, evenings or weekends, quoted for the hours you give.

  • Business invoicing

On a paid business plan each job is invoiced after completion, on 30-day terms.

  • Reviews from paid jobs

Every review on a provider’s profile comes from a booked, paid job.

Agree these before the first clean

  • which sides and floors are included, and whether that is inside, outside or both
  • how the upper floors will be reached, and any permission needed to work from the pavement
  • who lets the provider in out of hours, where they can park and where they can take water from
  • how often you want it done, and whether the same provider can keep the slot

Honest limit: Cleanifiq has no completed commercial window jobs yet, so we can’t promise how many quotes you’ll get. Glazing that needs rope access or a building cradle is specialist work; call our sales team on 0141 846 7777 before requesting it.

Requesting is free, and there’s no contract to sign.

Shopfronts, offices and shared buildings.

Commercial window cleaning covers any glass that a business or a building manager is responsible for.

  • Shops, cafés and restaurants

Street-level glass and doors, plus the frames and sills customers see up close. Often cleaned before opening, and more often on busy streets.

  • Offices

Inside and outside glass across one or more floors, and internal glass partitions and doors if you add them.

  • Signs and canopies

Fascia signs, projecting signs and glass canopies collect grime at awkward heights. Mention them with a photo; not every provider cleans signage.

  • Blocks, closes and shared buildings

Communal stair windows, entrance doors and glazed lobbies, booked by the factor, the managing agent or the owners together.

  • Showrooms and large glazing

Floor-to-ceiling glass and panes bigger than 2 m × 1.5 m, which home window bookings leave out.

  • Agents and landlords

Empty shop units between tenants and blocks you manage, requested and invoiced through a business account.

How the glass is reached decides the price.

Ask every provider how they will reach each part of the glass. The answer is the biggest difference between quotes.

  • Ground floor

Reached from the pavement with a squeegee or a short pole. Quick, and the usual shopfront job.

  • Upper floors from the ground

A water-fed pole reaches several storeys without a ladder, and suits offices above shops.

  • Beyond pole reach

A cherry picker, a cradle or rope access, sometimes with the council’s permission to work from the pavement. Specialist providers only, and priced separately.

  • Inside glass

Done during or outside opening hours. Say whether desks, displays or stock need moving, and who will move them.

What to send

Three details every provider asks for.

Commercial window jobs are priced from your description, so a full brief gets you comparable quotes the first time.

  1. 1

    The building

The type of premises, how many floors, and roughly how many windows or how much glass on each side.

  2. 2

    Access and hours

Opening hours, out-of-hours access, shutters, parking or loading, and where water can be taken from.

  3. 3

    Photos of each side

One per side of the building, so providers can see the heights, signs and obstacles. Send them with the request or in the messages once providers reply.

Want a provider to see the building first? For jobs that need seeing first, some providers offer an in-person visit. Your first visit for a job is free (one free visit per postcode every 7 days); a second provider’s visit fee is shown before you book it and refunded if they cancel. A quote given after a visit is valid for up to 3 months. Paid business plans include more in-person visit quotes per job.

What commercial window quotes usually cover.

Providers quote for the glass and the times in your request. These are the usual parts of a job.

  • Glass

    • Outside glass, with every floor quoted
    • Inside glass on request
    • Glass doors and entrances
  • Frames and fittings

    • Frames, sills and ledges
    • Signs and canopies, where offered
  • Scheduling

    • One-off cleans
    • Repeat visits with the same provider
    • Before opening or after closing

Not included unless quoted

  • Rope access and building cradles
  • Repairs, re-glazing or re-sealing
  • Graffiti or etching on the glass
  • Condensation inside sealed double glazing
  • Gutter and roof work

The quote you accept is the scope. Anything added on the day comes through the platform as a separate request you can accept or decline.

Commercial or home window cleaning?

Business premises get their own quote.

The main window cleaning page is built around homes: priced per window from set times, with fixed safety limits. Commercial glass doesn’t fit those limits, so it is quoted per job instead.

Choose commercial window cleaning for

  • shops, offices, restaurants and showrooms
  • glass above the ground floor that doesn’t open inwards
  • panes bigger than 2 m × 1.5 m, signs and canopies
  • communal windows in a block or close, booked for the building
  • work outside opening hours, invoiced to a business

Choose standard window cleaning for

  • a house or a flat, priced per window
  • inside glass, frames and blinds, plus any outside glass that can be reached safely

How much does commercial window cleaning cost in Glasgow?

There’s no rate card. Each provider prices your building from what you send, and Cleanifiq doesn’t yet have enough commercial window jobs to publish an average.

A single shopfront is often a short job where the provider’s minimum call-out applies; offices over several floors are priced on the glass, the height and the access. Some providers price repeat visits differently from one-offs, so say how often you want the windows done.

What affects the price

  • How much glass, and on how many floors
  • Access: ladder, water-fed pole or equipment
  • Inside as well as outside
  • Timing outside opening hours
  • How often: a one-off or repeat visits

Why quotes differ

One provider may quote a water-fed pole for every floor; another may need equipment for the top storey. Compare how each plans to reach the glass and what they include, not only the price per visit.

Protected from request to sign-off.

  • Your payment is held

You choose at checkout: pay a deposit (20% of the job, or the provider’s minimum call-out fee if that’s higher) or pay in full. If you pay a deposit, the balance is due by 7:30am on the day of the job. Your money goes to Cleanifiq, not the provider, and release to the provider starts the day after the job, once they’ve completed it on the platform.

  • Not right? Tell us within 48 hours

Tell us within 48 hours of the job, with photos or a short video of what isn’t right. Your provider gets 48 working hours to come back and put it right at no cost to you, and we hold their payment until it’s settled. If they can’t or won’t, you choose: the value of the unfinished items back as a refund or Cleanifiq credit, or a new, smaller job for just those items with another provider (you see the price before confirming anything).

  • Checked before they quote

Before a provider can take bookings we check photo ID, proof of address and public liability insurance, plus a criminal record check (Basic Disclosure Scotland or equivalent) and right to work where it applies. For companies we check a director’s ID, the business address, public liability insurance and Companies House status. Documents with expiry dates are re-checked when they expire. Every review on a provider’s profile comes from a booked, paid job. Cleanifiq’s insurance covers a new provider’s first three jobs while their own cover is being verified.

  • Keep it on the platform

Always pay through Cleanifiq, including for anything added on the day. Work paid for privately falls outside our guarantee, our insurance and our dispute resolution.

Commercial windows in Glasgow

Tenement shopfronts, city-centre offices.

Commercial window cleaning is new on Cleanifiq and has no completed jobs in Glasgow yet. In the six months to October 2026, 5 providers quoted for home windows in Glasgow and 2 more in the towns around it; expect few commercial quotes at first.

  • Shops under tenements

Many Glasgow shops sit beneath tenement flats, so the shop glass is at street level but the windows above belong to the flats. Book the glass and fascia that are yours.

  • City-centre access

Daytime parking and loading are restricted on many city-centre streets. Early cleans before trading are the usual answer; say when loading is allowed outside your premises.

  • Closes and common stairs

Many tenements have a factor who looks after the common stair windows. A factor can request quotes for a whole building and be invoiced on a business account.

Commercial Window Cleaning in Glasgow: your questions

Yes, if a provider can work those hours. Put the times in your request; providers quote for them, and evenings and weekends can cost more.
Each visit is a job on Cleanifiq. You can rebook a provider you liked for the next one, and paid business plans add one-click repeats for recurring jobs.
Usually with a water-fed pole from the ground, which reaches several storeys. Higher or awkward glass needs access equipment, and the quote should say so. Home window bookings stop at the ground floor and inward-opening windows, which is why business glass higher up is quoted here.
Some providers do. Mention them in the request with a photo, and they are included in the quote if the provider can reach them safely.
Yes. A factor, a managing agent or the owners together can request quotes for a building’s communal windows, and a business account can be invoiced.
On a paid business plan, each job is invoiced after completion on 30-day terms. On the free Marketplace account you pay per job at checkout, like a private customer.
