How prices are set
- Cleanifiq doesn't set the price. Each provider sets their own hourly rate (at least £17.00 an hour), and our pricing engine turns the rooms, appliances and cleaning level you pick into a fixed price before you book.
- Quote jobs (handyman, commercial, pressure washing, decontamination, custom quotes) are priced by each provider from your description and photos.
- Hourly bookings are charged at the rate the provider sets, typically £17.00–£25.00 an hour, for a minimum of 2 hours.
- Same-day and next-day bookings can carry a surcharge that the provider sets. You see it in the price before you confirm.
- There is no booking fee: the price you see is the price you pay. No subscription, no minimum spend for private customers.
- If your provider finds more than you described, they send an additional payment request through the platform with a description and a price. You accept or decline it, and it expires after 1 hour; decline it and they clean what you booked.

We hold the money
You choose at checkout: pay a deposit (20% of the job, or the provider's minimum call-out fee if that's higher) or pay in full. If you pay a deposit, the balance is due by 7:30am on the day of the job; unpaid by then, the booking counts as cancelled. Your money goes to Cleanifiq, not the provider. Release to the provider starts the day after the job, once they've completed it on the platform.
We fix it, or you get the value back
Tell us within 48 hours, with photos or a short video of what isn't right (the terms' outer limit is 7 working days, after which the job counts as accepted). Your provider has 48 working hours to come back and put it right, at no cost to you, and we hold their payment until it's settled. If they can't or won't, you choose: we return the value of the unfinished items (worked out from your original quote) as a refund or Cleanifiq credit, we set up a new, smaller job for just those items with another provider (you see the price before confirming anything), or both.
If they cancel, you're never out of pocket
If your provider cancels, you never pay a cancellation fee. You choose a replacement provider (you see their price first) or a full refund. If you rebook the same service for the same date, any same-day or next-day surcharge on the replacement is covered.

Renting in Glasgow?
Two things worth knowing before your clean, one about the law and one about the buildings.
Your deposit is with a scheme, not your landlord
In Scotland a landlord has 30 working days from the start of a tenancy to lodge your deposit with SafeDeposits Scotland, Letting Protection Service Scotland or mydeposits Scotland. If you disagree with a deduction when you leave, the scheme’s free dispute resolution decides it, judged against the check-in inventory and the evidence from both sides. A receipt and dated photos from your clean are that evidence.
Tenement flats take longer than the floor plan suggests
High ceilings, cornicing and long hallways are normal in Glasgow’s tenements. Providers dust above ladder height with an extension pole, and a hallway longer than 5 metres is priced as two, so the quote matches the flat rather than surprising you on the day.
Parking
In the city centre, the West End and parts of the Southside, parking is often paid. Choose "paid parking" when you book, so providers can allow for it in their price instead of raising it on the day.

- Yes, you can cancel your booking, but cancellation fees may apply depending on timing. More than 2 weeks before: full refund with no deductions. Between 2 weeks and 2 days before: a payment processing fee of 1.69%–5% (depending on payment method) is retained and the rest is refunded. Less than 2 days before (or failing to pay by 7:30 AM on cleaning day): your deposit is retained as a slot reservation fee. After the provider starts: you owe the minimum callout fee or work completed, whichever is greater. Whenever money comes back to you, you can take it as Cleanifiq credit instead of a refund, sometimes with a bonus on top. This policy keeps things fair for both customers and Glasgow providers.
- Before a provider can take bookings we check photo ID, proof of address and public liability insurance, plus a criminal record check (Basic Disclosure Scotland or equivalent) and right to work where it applies. For companies we check a director's ID, the business address, public liability insurance and Companies House status. Documents with expiry dates are re-checked when they expire, and a new provider's first three jobs are covered by Cleanifiq's insurance while their own cover is verified. - For fixed-price cleaning your provider brings professional equipment and cleaning products, a 3-step ladder and an extension pole. You can ask for regular, eco-friendly or pet-friendly products when you book. Hourly bookings are different: you supply the equipment and products.
- No subscription, no booking fee and no minimum spend for private customers: the price you see is the price you pay. Each provider sets a minimum call-out for their time, and it is already inside the price you see before you book. Letting agencies and landlords with several properties can open a business account instead.
- Always pay through Cleanifiq, including for anything added on the day. Work paid for privately falls outside our guarantee, our insurance and our dispute resolution.
