The price is worked out, not guessed
Each level has a set time per area. The bathroom takes longest: 15 minutes at Quick wipe, 30 at Thorough wipe, 60 when it needs scrubbing. Your provider's hourly rate turns that time into a fixed price before you book. Two providers can quote differently because they charge different rates; the work being priced is the same.
Anything extra is asked, not added
If your provider finds more than you described, they send an additional payment request through the app with a description and a price. You accept or decline it, and it expires after an hour. Decline it and they clean what you booked, to the level you booked.
Your money waits for the work
You pay through Cleanifiq, never to the provider directly, and the provider is paid after the job. If something isn't right, tell us within 48 hours with a photo; your provider has 48 working hours to come back and fix it at no cost.
Small print, said plainly: a Thorough wipe won't shift years of limescale or grease. If a room hasn't been properly cleaned in a long time, pick Scrubbing required, or book a deep clean instead.

How much does house cleaning cost in London?
Your price is the time each area takes at the level you choose, multiplied by your provider's hourly rate. Providers set their own rate, from a minimum of £17.00 an hour, and most also set a minimum call-out (3 hours by default).
There is no booking fee on top: the price you see is the price you pay. Booking for today or tomorrow can carry a surcharge the provider sets (by default +50% same day, +25% next day).

A flat here means a bedroom per bed, a living room, a bathroom, a hall and the kitchen. Under 3 hours of work most providers charge their minimum call-out instead, £51.00–£75.00 at £17.00–£25.00 an hour, which is why a small flat often costs the same as a slightly bigger one.

Why prices vary between providers
Providers set their own hourly rate, team size and minimum call-out, so two quotes for the same rooms can differ. The work being priced is the same: compare a few and read reviews from similar jobs, rather than just picking the cheapest number.

Cleaning a London home: what's worth knowing
Hard water, fast limescale
London's water is hard, so limescale builds quickly on taps, shower screens and kettles. If it's visible, choose Scrubbing required for the bathroom and tick the kettle. A thorough wipe won't remove established scale.
Parking and access
Most London boroughs run controlled parking zones, and many blocks have no visitor spaces. Set the parking option honestly when you book; any parking charge is added only with your approval. If the building has a concierge or a key safe, say so in the notes.
Renting in London
Under the Tenant Fees Act 2019 a landlord in England cannot charge you for a professional clean. You do have to hand the home back as you found it, fair wear and tear aside, and dated photos from a clean are the simplest proof that you did.
Honest availability
If no provider covers your postcode yet, you will see that straight away instead of waiting for a call back. Requesting quotes is free, and nothing is charged unless you book.

- You can request one at any time and see straight away whether a provider covers your postcode. Our London provider base is still small, so some postcodes may get no quote yet; you pay nothing unless you book.
- No. Every booking is a one-off. Book once for a spring clean or before guests arrive, and book again whenever you want. Nothing renews automatically, and there is no subscription to cancel.
- Same rooms, different effort. A house clean is usually Thorough wipe: complete surface cleaning. A deep clean is Scrubbing required, which takes almost twice as long per room (45 minutes against 25 for a bedroom) and usually includes inside the oven, the kitchen units and the fridge. You can also mix the two, room by room.
- Yes. A light clean is the Quick wipe level in the same booking: light surface cleaning for areas that are already kept tidy, 15 minutes for a bedroom or a bathroom at default times. Choose it for some areas and Thorough wipe for others, and the price follows.
- No. Your provider brings professional equipment and cleaning products, a 3-step ladder and an extension pole. You can ask for regular, eco-friendly or pet-friendly products when you book. If you'd rather supply everything yourself and pay by the hour, see hourly cleaning.
- You choose at checkout: pay a deposit (20% of the job, or the provider's minimum call-out fee if that's higher) or pay in full. If you pay a deposit, the balance is due by 7:30am on the day of the job; unpaid by then, the booking counts as cancelled. Your money goes to Cleanifiq, not to the provider. Release to the provider starts the day after the job, once they have completed it on the platform. There is no booking fee on top: the price you see is the price you pay.
- Tell us within 48 hours of the clean, with photos or a short video of what isn't right. Your provider has 48 working hours to come back and put it right, at no cost to you, and we hold their payment until it is settled. If they can't or won't, you choose: we return the value of the unfinished items (worked out from your original quote) as a refund or as Cleanifiq credit, we set up a new, smaller job for just those items with another provider (you see the price before confirming anything), or both.
- Yes, you can cancel your booking, but cancellation fees may apply depending on timing. More than 2 weeks before: full refund with no deductions. Between 2 weeks and 2 days before: a payment processing fee of 1.69%–5% (depending on payment method) is retained and the rest is refunded. Less than 2 days before (or failing to pay by 7:30 AM on cleaning day): your deposit is retained as a slot reservation fee. After the provider starts: you owe the minimum callout fee or work completed, whichever is greater. Whenever money comes back to you, you can take it as Cleanifiq credit instead of a refund, sometimes with a bonus on top. This policy keeps things fair for both customers and London providers. If your provider cancels, you never pay a cancellation fee: you choose a replacement provider (you see their price first) or a full refund.
- You choose. Before you book you see each provider's rating, reviews and completed jobs. Before a provider can take bookings we check photo ID, proof of address and public liability insurance, plus a criminal record check (Basic Disclosure Scotland or equivalent) and right to work where it applies. For companies we check a director’s ID, the business address, public liability insurance and Companies House status. A new provider is covered by Cleanifiq’s insurance for their first three jobs while their own cover is verified. Every review on a provider’s profile comes from a booked, paid job. No check is perfect, so read the reviews and pick someone with a track record for your type of job.
- No. Many customers leave keys. If keys need collecting, tell us when you need them back: your provider records the return with a photo, and isn't paid until that's recorded or you confirm you have them.
