A room that is more paint than wall
If there is far more than you described, your provider sends a priced request in the app before doing extra. You accept it or decline it.
Honest limit: dried, aged paint on any surface is harder to shift than fresh paint. The standard covers fresh paint and plaster stains, so book within days of the work finishing, not months.

Decline it and they clean what you booked, to the standard you booked. If something you selected isn’t there, you aren’t charged for it.

How much does after builders cleaning cost in Manchester?
After-builders cleaning is priced like a property clean at the level you choose for each area. At the platform’s default times, at “Scrubbing required” a bedroom takes 45 minutes, a bathroom 60 and a kitchen 45.
Your provider’s hourly rate (from £17.00) turns those minutes into a fixed price. Some providers add a supplement for after-builders work and most set a minimum call-out; both are in the price you see before you book.

- A deep clean tackles household grime. An after-builders clean adds construction dust, top to bottom, and the removal of fresh paint and plaster from woodwork and plastic, and it is priced for that extra work.
- No. Waste removal isn’t part of the service: your provider cleans dust and small debris. Rubble, offcuts, packaging and skips go with your builder or a registered waste carrier. In England you can check a carrier on the Environment Agency’s public register on GOV.UK; householders have a duty of care for where their waste ends up.
- Not if the surface is porous, such as natural stone or unsealed wood: cleaning could damage it. Fresh paint on sealed woodwork and plastic is included.
- After every trade has finished, including the last coat of paint and the sealant, and ideally within a few days, while paint and plaster marks are still fresh.
- You can request it today, and providers covering your postcode can quote. Our Manchester network is still growing, so quotes may take longer than in Scotland. You only pay if you choose a provider and book.
- Before a provider can take bookings we check photo ID, proof of address and public liability insurance, plus a criminal record check (Basic Disclosure Scotland or equivalent) and right to work where it applies. Documents with expiry dates are re-checked when they expire. New providers are covered by Cleanifiq’s insurance for their first three jobs while their own cover is verified. Every review on a provider’s profile comes from a booked, paid job.
- For fixed-price cleaning your provider brings professional equipment and cleaning products, a 3-step ladder and an extension pole. You can ask for regular, eco-friendly or pet-friendly products when you book.
- Tell us within 48 hours of the job, with photos or a short video of what isn’t right. Your provider has 48 working hours to come back and put it right at no cost to you, and we hold their payment until it’s settled. If they can’t or won’t, you choose: the value of the unfinished items back as a refund or Cleanifiq credit, a new provider for just those items (you see the price first), or both. Dust from work done after the clean isn’t covered.
- Yes. Book each property like any other job. Business customers are invoiced after each job on 30-day terms.
- You choose at checkout: pay a deposit (20% of the job, or the provider’s minimum call-out fee if that’s higher) or pay in full. If you pay a deposit, the balance is due by 7:30am on the day of the job. Your money goes to Cleanifiq, not the provider, and is released to the provider only after they’ve completed the job on the platform. There is no customer fee: the price you see is the price you pay.
- Yes, you can cancel your booking, but cancellation fees may apply depending on timing. More than 2 weeks before: full refund with no deductions. Between 2 weeks and 2 days before: a payment processing fee of 1.69%–5% (depending on payment method) is retained and the rest is refunded. Less than 2 days before (or failing to pay by 7:30 AM on cleaning day): your deposit is retained as a slot reservation fee. After the provider starts: you owe the minimum callout fee or work completed, whichever is greater. Whenever money comes back to you, you can take it as Cleanifiq credit instead of a refund, sometimes with a bonus on top. This policy keeps things fair for both customers and Manchester providers.
