After-Party Cleaning in Edinburgh, for the morning after

Spills, glass, bottles and a kitchen nobody wants to face. No Edinburgh provider has quoted an after-party request yet, so here's how to get the clean done anyway: as a party clean, or the same rooms as a deep clean.

See the price before you book. No card needed to look.

The morning after

A party mess isn't build-up. It's spills, glass and smell.

A deep clean is built for dirt that took months: grease, limescale, grime in the grout. After a party the problem is different. Fresh spills that set if they are left, glass where nobody looks, rubbish, and an evening of smell in the soft furnishings. That changes what you book, and how soon.

Spills on floors and fabrics

Drinks on hard floors are a scrub. On carpets, rugs and sofas they need carpet and upholstery cleaning, which goes on the same visit. Blot what you can that night and don't rub; tell us what was spilled and where when you book.

Glass and bottles

Pick up broken glass yourself before anyone walks barefoot, and mention breakages in the notes so your provider checks under furniture and along skirting. Bottles and cans are rubbish: more than three bags is an extra, priced per bag.

Dishes and glasses

Washing up isn't part of a clean. A load of glasses and plates left out is an extra priced per load, so if you can, fill the dishwasher before your provider arrives and the booked time goes on the rooms.

Smell

Stale drink and food smell sits in bins, fabrics and the kitchen sink. Cleaning hard surfaces and bins, and airing the rooms, is part of the visit; smell in a carpet or a sofa needs the upholstery clean. Smoke in curtains, walls or ceilings needs specialist work no clean can promise to remove.

The kitchen and the bathroom

Expect sticky worktops, a full sink and a bathroom everyone used. Book those two at Scrubbing required, the rooms the party was in at Thorough wipe or Scrubbing required, and rooms nobody went into at Quick wipe, or leave them out.

After-party or deep clean?

Same flow, same providers. Different job.

Both are booked through the same questionnaire and priced the same way, room by room. What differs is what you are cleaning up, which levels you choose, and how soon you need it done:

Book a deep clean instead if…

  • The home needed a deep clean before the party anyway.
  • The oven, fridge and inside of the kitchen units need doing too.
  • Choice of provider matters more than the label: in Edinburgh, 12 providers quoted deep cleans in the six months to October 2026, against 0 for after-party requests. The rooms, levels and extras you pick are the same.

Timing

Sooner is easier on the stains. Later is easier on the price.

Fresh spills lift more easily than ones left for days, but the next morning is also the slot every host wants. Providers set their own surcharges for short notice; these are the defaults:

Today

A same-day surcharge of +50% by default, and only if a provider is free.

Tomorrow

A next-day surcharge of +25% by default. You see it in the price before you book.

Booked before the party

You know the date, so request quotes a week or two ahead and book the morning after. No short-notice surcharge, and more providers have the slot free. If the party is called off, the cancellation rules in the FAQ apply.

A clean before guests, too

The questionnaire books this as Before/After Party Cleaning, so the same service covers getting the home ready the day before. That is a separate visit with its own price, usually at Quick wipe or Thorough wipe.

Whatever the day, a custom quote is the route for anything beyond everyday party mess: providers see your photos and price it themselves.

How it's priced

Priced by the room, not by the mess.

You choose a level for each area, and the level sets the time booked for it. A living room that took the hit and a spare room nobody used don’t cost the same.

Time booked per area, by level

AreaThorough wipeScrubbing requiredExtremely dirty
Living or dining room25 min45 min60 min
Kitchen25 min45 min60 min
Bathroom30 min60 min90 min
Hall25 min45 min60 min
Staircase25 min30 min45 min

These are the default minutes our pricing engine uses; providers can adjust their own. Your quote is the minutes for the areas and levels you choose, times the provider's hourly rate, with their minimum call-out. We don't publish typical after-party totals: too few have been booked to give an honest figure. You see the exact price before you book, and pay nothing to look.

Before your provider arrives

Five minutes the night before saves an hour of the clean.

None of this is required. All of it makes the booked time go on cleaning, and keeps extras off the bill.

  1. 01

    Deal with broken glass

Sweep up anything sharp, wrap it in newspaper and bin it. Note any breakage you could not clear.

  2. 02

Blot spills, do not scrub them

Press kitchen roll on wet spills on carpets and sofas. Rubbing spreads them, and bleach can strip the colour.

  3. 03

    Load the dishwasher

Glasses and plates left out are an extra per load; a full dishwasher is not.

  4. 04

    Bag what you can

Bottles, cans and food waste in bags by the door. Up to three bags is part of the clean; more is priced per bag.

  5. 05

    Open the windows

An hour of air does more for the smell than any product.

  6. 06

    Photograph any damage

Burns, scratches or broken fittings are not a cleaning job. A photo before the clean keeps the record straight. For anything hazardous, send photos through a custom quote.

What can be extra on the day

Quoted upfront. You only pay if you say yes.

Party mess is hard to describe in advance, so these are the usual extras. Your provider explains anything outside what you booked, prices it in the app and waits for your OK.

If your provider finds more than you described, they send an additional payment request through the app with a description and a price. You accept or decline it, and it expires after an hour. Decline it and they clean what you booked, to the level you booked.

Always pay through Cleanifiq, including for anything added on the day: work paid for privately falls outside our guarantee and our dispute resolution.

FAQ

After-party cleaning in Edinburgh: your questions

You can request one. No provider quoted an after-party request in Edinburgh in the six months to October 2026, so you may get no quote; you pay nothing unless you book. 12 providers quoted deep cleans in the same period, so requesting the same rooms as a deep clean is the surer route.
It's priced like every property clean on Cleanifiq: the minutes for each area at the level you choose, times your provider's hourly rate, with their minimum call-out and any same-day or next-day surcharge. We don't publish typical totals for after-party cleans because too few have been booked. You see the exact price before you book.
After-party if the mess is from the event: spills, glass, rubbish, a sticky kitchen. A deep clean if the home was due one anyway, or the oven and kitchen units need doing. The booking flow and the prices work the same way; more providers quote deep cleans.
Often, if it is treated early and blotted rather than rubbed. No clean can guarantee full stain removal, and the Cleanifiq Service Standards say so for carpets. Add carpet and upholstery cleaning for the rooms and furniture that were hit, and tell your provider what was spilled.
Only as an extra. Washing up isn't part of a clean; your provider can price it per load on the day, and it's added only if you accept. Loading the dishwasher before they arrive avoids it.
Yes. The service is Before/After Party Cleaning, so book two visits: one the day before at a lighter level to get the home ready, and one after. Each has its own price.
Damage (burns, scratches, broken fittings), smoke damage to walls or curtains, guaranteed stain removal, and anything hazardous such as bodily fluids beyond a small accident. For those, send photos through a custom quote and providers price the job themselves.
Tell us within 48 hours of the clean, with photos or a short video of what isn't right. Your provider has 48 working hours to come back and put it right, at no cost to you, and we hold their payment until it is settled. If they can't or won't, you choose: we return the value of the unfinished items (worked out from your original quote) as a refund or as Cleanifiq credit, we set up a new, smaller job for just those items with another provider (you see the price before confirming anything), or both.
Yes, you can cancel your booking, but cancellation fees may apply depending on timing. More than 2 weeks before: full refund with no deductions. Between 2 weeks and 2 days before: a payment processing fee of 1.69%–5% (depending on payment method) is retained and the rest is refunded. Less than 2 days before (or failing to pay by 7:30 AM on cleaning day): your deposit is retained as a slot reservation fee. After the provider starts: you owe the minimum callout fee or work completed, whichever is greater. Whenever money comes back to you, you can take it as Cleanifiq credit instead of a refund, sometimes with a bonus on top. This policy keeps things fair for both customers and Edinburgh providers. If your provider cancels, you never pay a cancellation fee: you choose a replacement provider (you see their price first) or a full refund.
