Each level has a set time per area. The bathroom takes longest: 15 minutes at Quick wipe, 30 at Thorough wipe, 60 when it needs scrubbing. Your provider's hourly rate turns that time into a fixed price before you book. Two providers can quote differently because they charge different rates; the work being priced is the same.
Anything extra is asked, not added
If your provider finds more than you described, they send an additional payment request through the app with a description and a price. You accept or decline it, and it expires after an hour. Decline it and they clean what you booked, to the level you booked.
Your money waits for the work
You pay through Cleanifiq, never to the provider directly, and the provider is paid after the job. If something isn't right, tell us within 48 hours with a photo; your provider has 48 working hours to come back and fix it at no cost.
Small print, said plainly: a Thorough wipe won't shift years of limescale or grease. If a room hasn't been properly cleaned in a long time, pick Scrubbing required, or book a deep clean instead.

Cleaning a Manchester home: what's worth knowing
Terraces and stairs
Much of Manchester's housing is terraced, with stairs. A staircase of up to 20 steps counts as one, and each floor's landing counts as a hall.
Add a second bathroom or a downstairs toilet as its own bathroom so the price is right first time.
Soft water, mouldy sealant

A deep clean is Scrubbing required, which takes almost twice as long per room (45 minutes against 25 for a bedroom) and usually includes inside the oven, the kitchen units and the fridge. You can also mix the two, room by room.
- Yes. A light clean is the Quick wipe level in the same booking: light surface cleaning for areas that are already kept tidy, 15 minutes for a bedroom or a bathroom at default times. Choose it for some areas and Thorough wipe for others, and the price follows.
- No. Your provider brings professional equipment and cleaning products, a 3-step ladder and an extension pole. You can ask for regular, eco-friendly or pet-friendly products when you book.
- You choose at checkout: pay a deposit (20% of the job, or the provider's minimum call-out fee if that's higher) or pay in full. If you pay a deposit, the balance is due by 7:30am on the day of the job; unpaid by then, the booking counts as cancelled. Your money goes to Cleanifiq, not to the provider. Release to the provider starts the day after the job, once they have completed it on the platform. There is no booking fee on top: the price you see is the price you pay.
- Tell us within 48 hours of the clean, with photos or a short video of what isn't right. Your provider has 48 working hours to come back and put it right, at no cost to you, and we hold their payment until it is settled. If they can't or won't, you choose: we return the value of the unfinished items (worked out from your original quote) as a refund or as Cleanifiq credit, we set up a new, smaller job for just those items with another provider (you see the price before confirming anything), or both.
- Yes, you can cancel your booking, but cancellation fees may apply depending on timing. More than 2 weeks before: full refund with no deductions. Between 2 weeks and 2 days before: a payment processing fee of 1.69%–5% (depending on payment method) is retained and the rest is refunded. Less than 2 days before (or failing to pay by 7:30 AM on cleaning day): your deposit is retained as a slot reservation fee. After the provider starts: you owe the minimum callout fee or work completed, whichever is greater. Whenever money comes back to you, you can take it as Cleanifiq credit instead of a refund, sometimes with a bonus on top. This policy keeps things fair for both customers and Manchester providers. If your provider cancels, you never pay a cancellation fee: you choose a replacement provider (you see their price first) or a full refund.
